Anaesthetic Technicians/Operating Department Practitioners

Excitingly, we have a number of fabulous opportunities for Anaesthetic Technicians/Operating Department Practitioners, who are looking to advance their careers and build on their current skillsets in New Zealand. 

The role/s & responsibilities: 

As an AT or ODP, you will play a crucial role in supporting theatre staff during surgeries, ensuring patient comfort and safety.

This will include:

• Preparing and maintaining anaesthetic equipment and machines.
• Assisting anaesthesiologists in administering anaesthesia to patients.
• Monitoring patients’ vital signs and responses during surgeries.
• Troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues with the equipment.
• Collaborating with the surgical team to ensure a smooth and successful operation.
• Assisting with patient transportation to and from the operating room.
• Ensuring compliance with safety and infection control protocols.

To be considered you will: 

• Hold relevant qualifications as an AT or ODP.
• Have proven English Language Proficiency/Sufficient IELTs band score (in alignment with MSC Requirements)
• Eligibility for registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand (MSC).
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
