Job Description: As a Perioperative Nurse you will play a vital role in the operating room, collaborating with surgical teams to provide high-quality patient care throughout the perioperative period. Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with surgical teams to prepare and maintain the operating room for procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are readily available.
• Assist in patient assessment, including preoperative preparation, and provide emotional support to patients and their families.
• Monitor patients’ vital signs, administer medications, and accurately document all perioperative activities.
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, surgical instruments, and equipment, following infection control protocols to ensure patient safety.
• Support surgeons during procedures by providing instruments, anticipating their needs, and maintaining a sterile environment.
• Advocate for patient safety and quality of care, adhering to established policies, procedures, and professional standards.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to different healthcare settings and surgical specialties.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Perioperative Nurse in a hospital setting.
• Solid understanding of perioperative nursing principles, practices, and procedures.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound clinical judgments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective teamwork and collaboration.
• Proficiency in utilizing medical equipment and technology commonly used in the perioperative setting.
