Job Title: Registered Nurse – Cardiology and Cardiothoracic

Location: Melbourne, Australia

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Position Overview: We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Nurse specialized in Cardiology and Cardiothoracic care to join a dynamic team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality patient care, assisting with procedures, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac and cardiothoracic procedures.
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and assist with the management of post-operative care.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by medical staff.
  • Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about cardiac conditions, treatment options, and post-operative care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the advancement of evidence-based practice in cardiac nursing.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered Nurse qualification with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a cardiac or cardiothoracic nursing role.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Cardiac Nursing or relevant specialty highly desirable.
  • Advanced clinical skills in monitoring and managing cardiac patients, including experience with invasive procedures and telemetry monitoring.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning in the field of cardiac nursing.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia without sponsorship.
